The Pixel 6a will make some compromises to hit that price point, but the fingerprint sensor might not be one of them.
A report says Google already confirmed that the Pixel 6a won't share the same in-display fingerprint sensor as the more expensive models. It's unclear whether the fingerprint sensor in the mid-range phone is...

For better or worse, the Pixel 6a will get the same official case as the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. That is the plastic case that caused people to share conflicting feelings. Some people love it, others not so much
The Pixel 6a will get the same official case as its siblings
We're talking about the company's relatively thin plastic case. That plastic case essentially replaced the company's fabric case. People mostly loved that fabric case, but Google decided to scrap it, and replace it with this.
Google didn't exactly release an official confirmation this will happen, per se, but that case did pop...

If you have a Google Pixel 6 or a Pixel 6 Pro then outside of the many bugs - which have mostly now been fixed - you might be most annoyed by the fingerprint sensor, which many users have found to be deeply unreliable. This was confirmed by Rick Osterloh (the Senior VP for Devices and Services at Google) in conversation with Android Central at Google IO 2022. However, there's no guarantee that the Pixel 6a's new sensor will be any better. Osterloh...

The Pixel 6a launched two days ago, and many people assumed it will include the same fingerprint scanner as its siblings, but that won't be the case. The Pixel 6a will ship with a different fingerprint scanner than the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.
