During Google's I/O 2022 keynote, the company officially released teasers of the Pixel 7 smartphone which is expected to launch later this year. The company had initially stated that the phone is expected to see the return of soft touch glass, but now a tweet by MKBHD says otherwise. According to the tech YouTuber, he says that Google has confirmed to him that the Pixel 7 will not feature a soft touch glass, despite the company's initial claims. For those wondering what this means, basically the soft touch glass is the matte glass back found on devices like the Pixel 3 and Pixel 4.
