Google has recently introduced a new change to how users can browse web content within Android apps. Usually, most Android apps will display web content within the app via the Webview component or custom tabs through Chrome, should a user open an internet link while using a specific app, although most of the time this takes up a user's entire screen. Uber riders and drivers in Canada can now access a safety feature that allows trips to be audio recorded.
Users can set up the feature in the app's Safety Toolkit and start a a recording by hitting the blue shield icon on the map screen and tapping 'start.' Users can control when they want to start or stop a recording. If riders and drivers don't end a recording on their own, Uber says the recording will stop after the trip is complete.

WhatsApp is making some minor changes to its Android app, although they're clearly handy additions (even if one of them is still in beta testing right now). The tweaks inbound with the latest release version of the Android client include the ability to add captions when sharing a document via WhatsApp, as WABetaInfo reports. Along with that comes a big increase in the number of photos and videos you can send at once in a conversation. Many Android apps display web content within themselves - this keeps the user from bouncing back and forth between the app and the browser, for example, when tapping on a link in Gmail.
