Samsung's latest ISOCELL HP3 is the company's second 200-megapixel sensor

Samsung unveiled the 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP1 image sensor in September of last year. Now, showing off its technical prowess, the tech giant has announced the upgraded ISOCELL HP3 , which it says features the "industry's smallest 0.56μm Pixel."
The new ISOCELL HP3 is a 1/1.4-inch optical format camera sensor with a 200-megapixel resolution and 0.56μm pixel size. On the other hand, ISOCELL HP1 is a 1/1.22-inch sensor with a 0.64μm pixel size. According to Samsung, the 12 percent reduction in pixel size takes up less area and enables the sensor to be fitted in a wide variety of smartphones...

Samsung Electronics has announced a new camera sensor for phones with 200 megapixel resolution. While Samsung already makes 200 megapixel camera sensors, the new ISOCELL HP3 sensor has pixels that are 12 percent smaller, enabling "approximately 20 percent reduction in camera module surface area, allowing smartphone manufacturers to keep their premium devices slim."
