Now, it looks like Amazon is poised to release a huge hardware upgrade to the Echo in 2017, giving the popular cylinder a 7-inch touchscreen and a more powerful speaker to fill a living room with music. Report: Next-Gen Echo to Feature Large Touchscreen

One year ago   |   By Android Headlines

Some time ago now, Amazon introduced us all to the Echo, and perhaps more importantly Alexa, the virtual assistant that powers the whole show. As for the hardware that gave Alexa her first home, the Amazon Echo was a Bluetooth speaker that would also connect to your home network and provide you with answer to all sorts of things, as well as offer up home automation, too. They've just been on sale for Black Friday, and now have all kinds of integrations to offer much better control of connected devices and allow you to do more than ever with nothing more than just your voice. This being...

‘Premium Echo-like' Amazon speaker expected as early as Q1 2017 with 7-inch touchscreen

One year ago   |   By Pocketnow

Nobody, including e-commerce giant Amazon and its often eccentric Lab126 engineers and developers, expected the Echo smart speaker to catch on. Certainly not as fast as it did, and on such a large scale that it reportedly sold over 5 million units since 2014, prompting several low-cost spin-offs , and let's face it, a Google-made copycat .
Without a doubt, the voice-controlled home automation hub owes much of its mainstream commercial success to the built-in Alexa personal assistant, which is now also available as standard on an all-new Fire TV Stick , select Fire tablets , and third-party...
